On the eve of the Regatta Mr. John Monson McCaugherty made the fabulous presentation of a medal won by his great-grandfather at Carrick on Shannon Regatta in 1879. He made the presentation on board a special reception on Moon River to Club President, Tony Keane and it is interesting to note that each of the medal winners had their names engraved on the back of the medals.
